BECOME
A CHILD OF GOD
Receive forgiveness to live right before God
and honorable before man.
OUR DESIRES DECEIVE US
We keep making choices that are harmful to ourselves and hurtful to others.
It leaves us feeling trapped in a cycle we are powerless to escape.
To top it all off, we can’t shake the sense that we’ll be judged for all we’ve done wrong
at the end of this challenging life.
THERE IS A BETTER WAY TO LIVE
God didn’t just create us. He sent a part of himself—his own son—to put on human flesh, showing us that he understands our weaknesses.
Jesus Christ lived a perfect life that honored his father, showing us that it is possible to live in right relationship with God and man.
When they eventually killed him, he proved he had all power and authority by rising up from the dead.
Jesus is still alive today, offering complete forgiveness and the power to live an honorable, fulfilling life to anyone who asks.
“to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” – John 1:12
HOW TO BECOME A CHILD OF GOD:
1. REPENT
Turn away from the selfish way you’ve been living. Acknowledge that you’ve given in to your evil desires and have been helpless to live the way God intended for you.
2. BELIEVE
Put your trust in Jesus, the only one who can save you from the consequences of your sins. He died for your forgiveness. He rose again to give you fulfilling, eternal life.
3. RECEIVE
Invite the Spirit of God to help you live a new life. You can’t do better by trying harder. This new life comes through faith in Jesus and His Spirit empowering you.
Start living in freedom as a child of God
PRAYER TO BECOME A CHILD OF GOD
Use these words as a guide to talk to God from your heart:
Father God, I confess that I’ve dishonored you, giving in to my evil desires and sinning against you. I’ve fallen short of the perfect standard you’ve set for me, and I’m not able to do better on my own.
Jesus, I believe in you. I believe you came to show me who God is and how to honor him. You lived a perfect life as an example for me. You died in my place to take away my judgment. I believe You rose from the dead and have the authority to give me a new life. Please have mercy on me and forgive all of my sins.
Holy Spirit, I need your help. I invite you to come into my life and empower me to live an honorable life of faith, always doing what pleases you. When I stumble, help me to get back up and keep walking with You!
Thank you for saving me! Now I am a child of God!
