What Moves Us

Move
Over the years there have been certain elements to our ministry that have been underlying values, motivating everything we do. As we have polled our teams and taken a closer look at all of our activities, four characteristics that make this ministry unique come to the forefront:
1. Obedience – We love Jesus by obeying his command to disciple nations.
“…All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…”
Matthew 28:18-20

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:15

2. Risk – We gladly sacrifice and risk our lives to rescue those we love.
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
John 15:13

“…men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Acts 15:26

3. Humility – We empower individuals and cultures by humbly serving them.
“…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,
and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:25-28

“…he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.
And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Matthew 23:11-12

4. Unity – We take our place within the Body of Christ for Kingdom expansion.
“…within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us…not boasting…in other men’s labors, but having hope,
that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere,
to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you…”
2 Corinthians 10:13-16

“God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,
so we, being many, are one body in Christ…”
Romans 12:3-8
Of course we have strong doctrinal beliefs and standard Bible teaching topics, but these four guiding principles splash color on our outreach and fill our hearts with passion. What are some of your guiding principles for life and ministry to others? Leave us a comment in the box below.
