Nations are Calling

My wife sang a snippet of a prophetic song over ten years ago during our stint in Bible school together that stuck with me. (probably something to do with the gorgeous blonde singing it and my infatuation with her alluring voice?) A year or so into our time on the mission field together, I wrote it into a full song and wanted to share it with you today

(click on the song title to hear a rough recording of my wife and I singing the song during a service a few years back):

Nations are Calling

The nations are calling to you, the nations are crying out to you
The nations are calling to you, they’re crying out for you
Saying, save us, heal us, restore us, bring us back to you
Send us someone who will show us the way

Desire of the nations, Savior of the world
For those who sit in darkness who don’t know until they’ve heard
To the only one who can save, to the unknown god their voices raised
They’re crying out for you

The Father is calling to you, the Father is crying out to you
The Father is calling to you, He’s crying out for you
Saying, whom shall I send? Who will go for me?
I want to send them someone who will show them the way

Desire of the nations, Savior of the world
For those who sit in darkness who don’t know until they’ve heard
To the only one who can save, to the unknown god their voices raised
They’re crying out for you

I am calling to You, I am crying out to You
I am calling to You, I’m crying out for You
Saying, here am I! Lord, send me!
I will be that someone who will show them the way

Desire of the nations, Savior of the world
For those who sit in darkness who don’t know until they’ve heard
To the only one who can save, to JESUS CHRIST our voices raised
We’re crying out for you

I am believing God that someday in the future He’ll give us the grace to raise up an army of laborers from Uganda that would plant churches among the many unreached peoples across the nations of Africa. Please pray with us towards that great goal!
