This is a dream come true. More than 25 years ago, God gave Pastor Godfrey Muyanja a vision to unite pastors to plant new churches in unreached fishing villages that could reach every populated island in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Now our Island Leadership Network has extended from its original 15-mile radius to encompass the surface of the second largest lake in the world (it’s the size of Ohio, with a multi-ethnic population in the millions). Over three thousand islands are now within reach, and through constant visitation, monthly leadership events, and annual gatherings Godfrey oversees an international network of the majority of all Christian leaders in this region of the world.
This week I will be traveling to Mwanza, Tanzania to meet up with Pastor Godfrey and our team that is completing a week of training 200 leaders. We need your prayers as we build relationships with local pastors and lay foundations for a unified fellowship that can effectively reach all of Lake Victoria. Pray for safety as we travel by plane, bus, truck, and fishing boat. Pray that bacteria will stay out of our food and that the families we have left behind will be surrounded by God’s grace.
