Challenges are Opportunities

Two weeks ago we put out a request for emergency aid for our pastors and leaders under lockdown in Uganda. Twelve individuals and one church immediately responded and gave a total of $5,800!

As we’ve rushed these initial funds to the middle of Lake Victoria, the grateful response from these precious families has blessed us. What an answer to prayer this assistance has been in such a troubling time!

“Pastors from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania have already received relief supplies in terms of food and other essential commodities. This has boosted the spirits of our leaders and brought joy in these needy lands. Thanks to our donors! Prayers are going out for you, we are forever grateful!”

The Blessing Multiplies

Many of the 200+ families we have already assisted on Lake Victoria have been so overwhelmed by the unexpected gift, they have given much of it away to help even more people. Pastor Robinah on Kitobo island is seen here handing out food to her neighbors.

Preaching in Sudan

Our Missionary from Jaana Island is with his team in a Sudanese refugee camp. They are there to renew their visas and wait for travel restrictions to ease. Over the Easter weekend, they did open-air evangelism and showed the Jesus film in the camp. Many people gave their hearts to Jesus and rose up to a new life in Him!

More Than COVID-19

The people of East Africa have more than a global pandemic on their hands. If simply thriving in developing countries wasn’t hard enough, the largest invasion of desert locusts in 25 years has descended on the crops of the region, threatening their entire food supply. To top it all off, the unusually heavy rains have risen Lake Victoria’s waters to record levels, flooding many lakeshore villages and causing significant damage to homes and livelihoods.

Even though there are great challenges in front of our Bold Ventures teams, we know these are also opportunities to share the love of Jesus with people who have nowhere else to turn.

We need your prayers and support now more than ever as we support our leaders in this season of disaster. If you’d like to join our efforts to help even more families, you can give with the button below.
